Klein Constantia Tasting

  1. Riesling 2017. Colour pale gold. Nose- Lovely bouquet petrol. Cassis. Cream spice. Palate- slightly bitter.
  2.  Chardonnay 2020. colour- pale gold. Nose- lovely creamy nose. Palate- disappointing and lacking in body.
  3. Métis- Sauvignon Blanc 2018. 1. Colour- pale straw. Nose- bouquet, aromatic nose. Palate – same.
  4. Sauvignon Blanc 2017. 1. colour- pale straw. 2. Tremendous bouquet. 3. palate- wonderful palate.
  5. Red blend 2016. 1. Colour deep ruby. 2. nose- cassis. Wonderful bouquet. 3. Palate- thin.
  6. Vin de Constance 2019. 1. Colour- medium gold. Nose- incredible. 3. Rich and full.  

Comments. Klein Constantia has definitely turned the corner with its new wine maker. It is definitely in Michael Frijhon’s words “more of a white wine farm than a red wine farm.”
